The texts on this site are taken from the the MLA New Variorum Shakespeare and from OpenSourceShakespeare.
Those marked with ❧ are taken from the MLA New Variorum Shakespeare, which is based on the 1623 first folio text of Shakespeare’s plays. Although the first folio does not include modernized spelling, Digital Acting Parts allows you to type modern spelling into your browser and see it transformed into early modern spelling before your eyes. Of course, not all editions of Shakespeare are the same: some might have different punctuation, lineation, or even words.
The rest of the texts on this site are taken from OpenSourceShakespeare, which in turn uses the 1887 Globe Shakespeare edition.
